More about Joshua Pilchik

Dr. Joshua Pilchik provides thoughtful, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care through an integrative biopsychosocial lens. He approaches therapy with warmth and professionalism, believing that meaningful change emerges from a balance of insight, practical skill-building, and authentic connection. In his work with couples, he offers a grounded space to strengthen communication and process challenges in the relationship.

Joshua Pilchik’s Approach to Therapy

His approach weaves psychodynamic principles with cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies, drawing from behavioral, dialectic, and trauma-informed sources including, but not limited to, CBT, ACT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and the ARC framework. With a clinical background spanning community health centers, outpatient clinics, school districts, and inpatient psychiatric settings, Dr. Pilchik brings a nuanced understanding of how mental health intersects with developmental and environmental contexts.

Dr. Pilchik completed his predoctoral internship in clinical and community psychology at Yale University while completing his doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in Combined School-Clinical Psychology from Pace University. Dr. Pilchik also obtained an M.S.Ed. from Pace University along with a B.A. in psychology from Columbia University.
