Psychotherapist

Lynn specializes in helping clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, stress, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). She works with children, adolescents, and adults, using a solution-focused and person-centered approach. Creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment is key to Lynn’s approach. She recognizes that unspoken emotions often lie beneath a client’s struggles, and she encourages clients to find their voice and engage with their feelings in meaningful ways. Her warm, empathetic presence makes clients feel secure, while her ability to gently challenge unhelpful thought patterns promotes self-reflection and positive change. Lynn empowers her clients to establish personalized treatment goals that reflect their unique values and experiences, ensuring they remain active participants in their healing journey.
Lynn’s therapeutic approach is based on self-compassion, which she believes is essential to mental health and personal growth. Acknowledging that anxiety, fear, and emotional pain can impede development, she collaborates with clients to nurture self-kindness and diminish self-criticism. By creating tools and coping strategies rooted in self-compassion, clients can more effectively navigate life’s challenges and enhance their emotional resilience.
Lynn’s extensive background in mental health counseling, art therapy, and education enables her to offer a compassionate and multi-dimensional approach to therapy. When appropriate, Lynn may introduce creative expression into sessions as a powerful tool to help her clients process emotions and convey experiences that might be challenging to express verbally. This method has shown to be particularly effective for children with ADHD who are looking to enhance their social skills, as well as for any individual dealing with anxiety, depression, or grief.
Lynn is a mental health counselor (limited permit) in New York State and Connecticut, and she is a registered, board-certified Art Therapist. She is currently a PhD candidate in Mental Health Counseling at Pace University and also holds Master’s degrees in Art Therapy, Elementary Education, and Mental Health Counseling.
