Psychologist (Limited Permit)

Dr. Joshua Ross Pilchik provides thoughtful, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care through an integrative biopsychosocial lens. He approaches therapy with warmth, professionalism, and the belief that meaningful change emerges from a balance of insight, skill-building, and authentic connection. His work is grounded in ethical and culturally responsive practice, with a strong commitment to ensuring that each client feels understood, respected, and supported.
Dr. Pilchik creates a collaborative and welcoming therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful growth. His approach integrates psychodynamic principles with cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies, drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and the ARC framework. His therapeutic approach weaves together insight-oriented exploration with practical coping strategies, helping clients better understand their internal worlds while developing the skills that can apply in their daily lives.
Working with clients of all ages, Dr. Pilchik supports concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, academic and learning challenges, identity development, and interpersonal difficulties. He has trained across a wide range of clinical settings, including community health centers, outpatient clinics, school districts, psychiatric hospitals, and inpatient units. These diverse experiences have allowed him to treat with clients presenting with a broad spectrum of emotional, behavioral, academic, and relational difficulties. With a background in both school and clinical psychology, Dr. Pilchik brings a unique understanding of the intersection between mental health, learning, and developmental context—particularly for adolescents and young adults navigating academic demands, identity formation, and major life transitions.
Dr. Pilchik earned his doctoral degree in Combined School-Clinical Psychology and M.S.Ed. from Pace University, as well as a B.A. in psychology from Columbia University.
