Jeff Schill is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York with 15 years of experience in the mental health field and 7 years of experience as a practicing psychotherapist. His counseling approach is warm, friendly, and client-centered. Jeff believes that the relationship between the client and the therapist is the most important part of the healing journey. He prides himself on being able to get a good sense of who his clients are as people in order to develop a strong therapeutic alliance. He is empathic and validating. At the same time, he is skilled at challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be getting in the way of living one’s best life. Jeff utilizes a trauma-informed approach, blending aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

Jeff received his Master’s degree from John Carroll University in his hometown of Cleveland, OH. He moved to Arizona following graduate school and began his career there where he worked with severely mentally ill adults who were often also experiencing homelessness. Jeff transitioned into working with adolescents who were struggling with substance abuse and addiction. He continued to expand the populations he served by providing treatment to children, teens, and adults suffering from a variety of ailments, including depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions, adjustment issues, grief and loss, and LGBTQ issues. Jeff currently facilitates a weekly virtual grief support group for adults who have experienced the loss of a parent. He also serves as a clinical supervisor at Northeast Psychological Wellness, where he provides training and guidance to clinicians who have recently entered the counseling profession.
